Cupuaçu butter comes from the fruit of the Cupucaçu tree, which comes from the Amazon region. It is a different species from the same genus as the Cocoa tree. Similar in texture and color to cocoa butter, it has additional phytonutrients. Often called a "superfruit", it is used for food products and health supplements., as well as many cosmetics because of its great fatty content.
